Connecticut Energy Options

Hello Fellow Cornwall Resident,

Many of you have answered our call to use clean, renewable electricity by signing on to CL&P for Clean Energy. Congratulations! We are proud that Cornwall has the greatest proportion (30%) of residential sign ups of any town in Connecticut!

Through the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, we have been awarded with three 1-PV arrays of solar panels for our school and multiple educational opportunities including presentations at the library for adults and programs and field trips for the kids. We are continuing our campaign because we believe in the long-term strategy of this effort.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency: The number one single source of greenhouse gas emissions in the US is the generation of electricity. (More than all our transportation combined) and a full 70% of that electricity is derived from the burning of fossil fuels. the easiest way to bring about the most significant change is this opportunity.

The number of residential sign ups also effects our legislators who use this data to monitor public concern for environmental and energy issues. Available Cap & Trade shares are reduced as residential numbers increase.

Please keep in touch. We are researching some easy steps that will further save you money by decreasing your electrical consumption. It's fun, and it's the right thing to do for the future!

Thank you for participating,
Katherine Freygang
